8 Weeks old is the first
time your dog should come see us for their first physical exam, vaccines, and
deworming. They will get the first puppy vaccines in a series of three that is
a 5 way vaccine including Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvo,
and Parainfluenza.
12 weeks old your dog
will get another wellness exam and their second set of the vaccines. This set
will be a 6 way that includes the previous vaccines and will add Bordetella
(Kennel Cough). We will start your dog on Heartworm prevention, check growth
rate, and discuss any other concerns.
16 weeks your dog
will get the third set of puppy vaccines which is the 6 way vaccines and then
add their Rabies vaccine. At this age they are old enough to get
spayed/neutered and if you do not plan to breed your dog we recommend doing
this now. After 16 weeks your dog will only need vaccines yearly afterwards.
